Joe Root Slams 180* - Twitter Reactions: England Reaches 391; Lord’s Test still in balance

The Lord's Test between India and England is in the balance with two days remaining. It will be all about who blinks first. He had a great time in 2021, and made the most of the perfect batting conditions at Home of Cricket. He was also supported by the rest of his batsmen, as England gave their best with the bat this summer. They are certainly putting India under pressure.
The day started with the home team at 119/3. They were still 245 runs behind the opposition's first innings total. Sunshine welcomed both sides. Many thought that the visitors would have a difficult day, especially when Mohammed Shami didn't get his first delivery. Root showed his class again in this series.
Jonny Bairstow was there to support him at the other end, even though the runs were coming at a fair pace. Indian bowlers were too pushy and fed loose balls at times. Root and Bairstow were also fearless in their shots, with little chance of the ball being edging. England had an interminable session, perhaps after a long time.
India returned however with a short-ball strategy, and the 121-run partnership ended. Bairstow attempted to take on Siraj but ended up losing it to the slip fielder. As runs continued to come in, the run rate remained at around 3. Buttler seemed comfortable after spending time in the middle. However, Ishant Sharma rattled him with a brilliant inswinger.
Root was determined to make it to the fourth day, even as stumps were getting closer to the end. This would complete his double ton as well as extend the lead. In the end, it was Mohammed Shami who broke Anderson's defense on the last ball of the day to make England run for 391 runs. Root remained unbeaten at 180 runs. The visitors conceded 33 more runs, 17 of which were no-balls and 13 from Bumrah.
The Test match is in jeopardy now. India will have to bat well again to make it a win for England.
The bowling hasn't been bad. It's just that Root has been better. Just a class act rising to the occasion this series. Well played @root66 👏🏻 #ENGvsIND pic.twitter.com/I8w2V1rOXj

If you are a batsman out of form , this Lords pitch and how it has behaved today is what you want to get back to scoring ways . Our middle order will be hoping the sun comes out tomorrow as well . #willthesuncomeouttomorrow

As @root66 piles on the runs for @englandcricket the absence of @ashwinravi99 makes it tough for India's attack with the Lord's pitch drying out and beginning to turn. #ENGvIND

Another masterly knock from @root66 Great exhibition of technique & concentration. It was to great to see @ImIshant back at his best and also loved the aggression & intensity of @mdsirajofficial A 250+ plus target is the least India will aim for to liven things up. #INDvENG pic.twitter.com/2Tu3X0TUMd
