What is ‘Red for Ruth’ day . Why Team India is wearing red caps at the Lord’s

Team-India On day two of Lord's Test, players were seen sporting red caps. Red caps were donated by players to the Ruth Strauss Cancer Foundation. It was established by Andrew Strauss (ex-English skipper). Ruth Strauss, Strauss’s wife, was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2012 and died in 2018.

Strauss made a noble gesture after her death and reached out Glenn McGrath - an Australian former great who was also trapped within similar circumstances. Jane McGrath was the victim of breast cancer. Strauss, owing to the same series of events, established the foundation on his wife's names which 'aids parents facing the death a parent and drives more research into nonsmoking lungs cancer.

The Lord’s Test 2nd day is being celebrated as 'Red for Ruth’ Day. Not only did the players wear red, but broadcasters as well as presenters donned red too.
