Twitter erupts as India’s tailenders pull off - Shami Slams Fifty

As the Lord's Test came to an end, the focus was on Rishabh Pant's quick runs and whether they could be the deciding factor. However, he was able to add just eight runs on the fifth day. This was concerning considering India's long tail. England might have thought that they were ahead of India at 194-7, with only 167 runs remaining.

England had a whole day to play. India won the match by a run and India was victorious in the end. Ishant was forced to play at no. India decided to go with a long tail in this match because they wanted to play 4-seamers.

Many had reservations about that decision due to India's current batting record. Ishant only played 16 runs out of 24 balls, but managed to increase India's score above 200. Mohammad Shami teamed up with Jasprit Bumrah at 209 to 8, in one of the best partnerships of the series.

Mohammed Shami achieves his second Test fifty

Shami, however, and Bumrah both weathered the storm to put pressure back on English bowlers. They played aggressive runs. Shami was the aggressor in this match, as he tried his best to score more runs with some spectacular boundaries. Bumrah meanwhile looked as composed and calm with the bat as ever. Shami was able to cross the line when he stepped down on the ground to Moeen Ali for the third and final time. His shot measured 92 meters. With that shot, Shami reached his second half of century in Tests. He batted till lunch was called on Day five, with Bumrah.
